First, Your Own Maintenance
This is the most important maintenance there is and it is up to you. Present a poorly maintained site that gives the wrong impression and the customer is gone--NO $ALE!
At least once every month, you should begin by doing your own maintenance. Go through your site with a customer's eyes. What do you see? Are your "specials" up to date? Is your calendar up to date? Is your price structure up to date? Do you need to add any new, exciting inventory items to the site? Do all your links work? Try to envision what impression the customer will get upon coming to your site. Is it one of trust? Is it a feeling that these folks know their stuff?

General Maintenance By IHS
When dealing with websites, the term
"General Maintenance" includes a great host of "evils" which we divide into three "pots."
Under each contract type, you have one free "online trouble incidence" per service interval, I.e., one per month, one per quarter, etc. This means that if you have a problem--any problem--you can call us and get help with no additional fee, whether it requires one hour or ten hours. After the first "online trouble incidence" during a service interval, you will be billed by the hour as explained below.
Invoiced payment (Net/10) by your company's Accounting department can be arranged for all contracted maintenance accounts.
By the hour, no overnight travel
Our charge for any hourly work that does not involve over-night travel is currently $65.00/hour with a minimum of one-hour charged in all cases. You will be billed in 1/4 hour increments ($16.25 each) after that. If we are doing on-site work, the clock begins when we leave our office's door and ends when we get back to it. (Our rate is subject to change without notice and we'll update this on our website as quickly as we can, but we'll notify you of what the rate is before we do anything so you'll know if it has changed.)
Invoiced payment (Net/10) by your company's Accounting department can be arranged, but this MUST be done ahead of time--no exceptions. If this has not been done, we will be happy to accept your company check, your credit card, or even cash as payment. This will be due and payable when we complete the maintenance work. Yes, you may choose to make payment to us using PayPal if that is most convenient for you.
By the hour, with overnight travel
First, everything in the preceeding paragraph on hourly charges applies, however, obviously we would not charge you for "eat and sleep time." We will only charge you for the hours we actually work--no matter where we work them. We will not try to profit on the travel expenses we have to incur. On the other hand, we will present you with additional billing for the following things:
- Airline ticket(s) and/or automobile charges
- Air
We'll give you a copy of the airline ticket showing what we spent and bill you for that amount.
- Private automobile usage
We'll bill you from office door to office door at a rate of 34 cents per mile + gas. (Yesssssssss we know about the IRS, but we also know about automobile depreciation and this is what we pay directly to our folks).
- Rental car
We'll give you a copy of the rental bill and the gasoline receipts and bill you for them.
- Tolls, parking, etc.
Yes, we'll bill you for these, too. We'll provide a receipt when possible or when an amount over $10.00 is involved.
- Lodging
Let us begin by saying that we DO NOT stay in roachy dumps--we will select the hotel. It will be neither a super-luxurious nor a low-end, questionable place. For example, any Mariott property nearby or enroute is considered OK; any Wyndham property is OK; etc. Traveling with computer equipment and luggage can be real fun, so if we have to tip the bell hop, yes, we'll pass that on to you--usually without a receipt, but always an amount that is reasonable for the amount of work we required of the bell hop.
- Meals
As with lodging, we DO NOT eat in greasy spoon joints where the roaches go. We won't bill you outrageous amounts, either...just reasonable restaurant rates which will include tips at a 15% rate. We'll provide a receipt copy for what we bill you, too.
- Laundry
If we stay over 7 days, laundry becomes necessary. You guessed it. We'll provide you a receipt copy and bill you for it.
- Miscellaneous
In rare cases, there are other charges that are a direct result of being out of town, these will also be added to your bill.

Other Terms/Conditions
These are things that, unfortunately, we are compelled to say. Mostly, they deal with payment issues that sometimes arise, but there are a couple of exceptions, so be sure to check them out.
Past-Due AccountsAccounts which have negotiated invoice-payment, but which are delinquent will NOT receive further maintenance or assistance until the account is paid in full. Such invoice-payment accounts shall be considered delinquent when 14 days have passed since the last bill was rendered, and payment in full has not been received by IHS.
Customers who have not paid for their last maintenance call which was more than 14 days before will NOT receive further maintenance or assistance until the account is paid in full.
There will be absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.
Personalized ContractsThis website is intended as a general statement of our billing structure, product offerings, etc. Contracts which have been negotiated with any entity shall override this website in all dealings covered by the contract between IHS, Incorporated, and said entity without exception.
Products/Services Not In A Personalized ContractThe above statement notwithstanding, if IHS offers products and/or services to said entity which are not covered in the contract negotiated between IHS and said entity, and said entity agrees to receive said products and/or services, even though they are not covered in the contract between IHS and said entity, the pricing and details shown on this website shall then be considered as an addendum to the contract between IHS and said entity.
Pre-payment May Be RequiredIHS may, at its discretion, require you to pay ahead for any products and/or services offered. When this is the case, you may use PayPal and your credit card to prepay an amount which IHS requests. Said amount is not to be construed as payment in full except when IHS so-notifies you in writing. Should IHS see that the amount collected is too much, we will refund the overcharged amount to you via the same channel you used to make the payment. On the other hand, unless IHS has said that the collected amount is to be payment in full, the amount requested may or may not cover the full amount required and should be considered only as an initial good-faith estimate of the expense involved. If we see that we were incorrect and have undercharged you, IHS will notify you as soon as we understand this to be the case and give you an updated estimate on the full amount which will be required so that you may reconsider what you want to do. Even in this event, IHS may or may not elect to refund any or all of the prepayment collected funds and this decision is solely at the discretion of IHS.
eMail Is Valid and Legal. Verbal orders are not.If IHS offers products and/or services to any entity, whether there is a personalized contract previously negotiated between IHS and said entity or not, and said entity agrees in writing, which shall always include (but not be limited to) eMail communications, to receive the offered products and/or services, this agreement shall obligate said entity to make payment in full to IHS for the product and/or services consequently rendered by IHS.
In light of the speed with which email gives us all a written record, verbal orders for products and/or services will simply not be accepted. This protects both us and you. In fact, if we have any doubts about an order, we will call you to verify the order ahead of time.
